I always love Monday nights. I mean, I have my show but I get there early to watch Bella and their opening teams. tonight Seth and Kellen previewed some of their material for San Francisco Sketchfest! I won't give away too much but they had some awesome trivia games including "Danny Glover or Crispin Glover" and "Racial slur or bird name?" Hilarious!! Thora Birch was joined by The Era after that and then as always Bella closed the night with a hilarious and quirky show as always. You have to go see them! Mondays at 8 at the Playground. Then stay for Williams & Martinez :)

Happy 5th anniversary to my blog!! It's been a fun ride so far. I've run 2 marathons, had a 2-person improv show running for over 3 years. Seen a Playground incubator team come and go, put on another team recently, coached 2 teams, eaten at tons and tons of restaurants, traveled to NYC 5 times, Florida about 7 times. Been to a few weddings and seen a few divorces. Performed in hundreds of shows, some great and some not so great. And taken over 5,000 pictures of all of it. Here's to 5 more years and a huge thank you to everyone who reads my blog and is interested in all the fun and mundane parts of my life :) I decided to post this picture because, ya know, it's awesome. And judging by this pic, I could kick your ass.

I got to see Coach Manley in action tonight and it was pretty awesome. His JV Lady Romans at The Latin School played the Varsity girls at Lycee Francais, some of the bitchiest girls I've ever seen. One was "injured" twice and then would jump up and sit out for a while and text on her cell phone. The coach never moved out of her seat while Manley had steam coming out of his ears. So yeah, that other school can suck it. The best part was Amy's comment on the girl texting while on the bench, "Oh my god, she is totally a popular girl. I hate her already." So true.

Went to iO tonight to see the Katydids and Kate Duffy and Katie Rich's new show, The Mary Kay Letourneau Players Present. 2 funny shows with a lot of funny ladies. I recommend both!! Look for an article in TimeOut Chicago soon for an article with Kate and Katie and maybe my pictures :)

I found this ring today in my jewelry box (Yes, I still have a jewelry box). I had totally forgotten about it. I got it senior year of high school. I can't remember who exactly bought it but it was for me and my friends Susie and Katie. We each had one with all our names and '97 engraved on them. I keep in touch with Susie but sadly, I have no clue where Katie is. For some reason she decided to cut off all contact with all of our high school friends for no reason. Apparently, she didn't like her high school experience and didn't want to talk to any of us anymore. But seriously, who does enjoy their high school experience?

SNL audition showcase at iO! Show started at 8 and I got to the theater by 6:30. It was already packed and sold out by 7! Luckily I got in and had a pretty good seat. Congrats to everyone who got to audition and everyone did so great! Here are pics of all the performers :)

I saw The Artist. Incredible film and I highly recommend it.

I finally got to eat at Edzo's Burger Shop and had garlic fries that will make my breath and apt stink for days.

So I entered a photo contest for the Chicago Reader, the theme is money. They picked 160 pictures and put them in a facebook photo album and had people vote by liking and commenting on the photos. Mine was in the top 5 and I won a bike!! I don't know yet if my picture will be published in the Reader's photo issue but I should find out in the next few days. Thanks to everyone for voting! I've been on so many architecture tours of Chicago and it's funny how great and kinda brilliant these simply designed buildings are. This one is the Ralph H. Metcalfe Federal Building at Clark and Jackson. I'm having trouble finding the architect but most gov't buildings around here are the same design. Pretty awesome that this building was completed in 1991 and the one nextdoor was built in 1926.
