Finally went to the Art Institute to see the Van Gogh exhibit! There were so many paintings I know well and so many I didn't know. I didn't know a lot about his life either. He apparently was always searching for a place to call home where he felt like he belonged which ended up being a yellow house in France. He also painted some of his most beautiful paintings while in an asylum. The different versions he painted of his bedroom are so different! Color wise, dimensions and details! Go to the exhibit, it's worth it. Here are some pics of other paintings that caught my eye. And of course Nighthawks (Edward Hopper is probably my favorite artist ever).
