I used one of the Chicago City Walks cards that my friend Kate gave me today. The map on the card was in Old Town. I've been to this neighborhood hundreds of times but discovered a tiny little area called Old Town Triangle that was settled in the 1850s by German immigrants. Such a beautiful area. I went to St. Michael's church and then walked back east toward Clark St.

I had the bestest Saturday ever. First I had an amazing massage, then took the train north to meet Chrissy and Kyna for brunch. And look, they have cereal! Then Tami and I went to Vinnie's bbq/belated bday party. Later I met up with Alex at the Village Tap in Roscoe Village. A fun filled day indeed.

Goodbye Tim!!! We had a surprise going away party for Tim tonight. We have a tradition of surprising Tim in our underwear, don't asky me why. He is moving back home to South Carolina for grad school. It's hard seeing so many people move to LA or back home. He will be missed. Love ya Tim and good luck!!

One of my friends was recently mugged and I heard about a really drunk girl who was attacked by her cab driver. I have to say that despite this I do feel really safe in my neighborhood. I'm much more aware of what's going on around me, I carry pepper spray and don't wear my headphones at night. But I guess there's only so much you can do.

For the last couple months, I've been going to a therapist and I've been really surprised with how much it has helped. I can't tell you how great it is to be able to talk and talk and talk without worrying if you're talking too much and boring the person. I love my friends but I'm sure even they get sick of hearing about my problems.

My friend Nate came in town and stayed at the Drake Hotel. I pretended to be a tourist for the afternoon and walked around the Drake, then to Dublin for some food and drinks:)

Leftover beads from the pride parade. Sadly, I heard the day after pride that a gay bar was raided in Fort Worth. Not sure if gay patrons were targeted or not but seems a little suspicious to me. People being targeted for public intoxication? At a bar? Whatever, it's just embarrassing to hear something like that, but not surprising coming from Texas.

I left work a little early and took the scenic route home.
And then to ATC where we opened for Pudding-Thank-You.

I almost forgot about this ring. my grandparents gave it to me when I turned 16. I wore it a ton for a year or so and then just lost interest. At one point, I even gave it to my mom. But I discovered it at her house a couple years ago and took it back. Now it's one of my favorite things to wear.

Virgin Daquiri at iO tonight! And it was Dina's birthday! I miss performing there on Wednesday nights. When Roadster started, we had a lot of Wednesday and Sunday shows, which I think are the best slots. Wednesday nights have always been free and when Fernando and I first moved here, poor and jobless, iO was our destination every week.

All Skate was one of the opening Playground teams tonight, then I headed to iO to see 21st Century Men and Black Ted Williams. It was weird and fun to be at iO on a Tuesday at 10pm since I'm never there and I actually got to chat with a bunch of random Second City TourCo peeps. I'm so popular!
