Ahh, St. Patty's Day in Chicago. When everyone is Irish for a day just to be able to get unbelievably wasted. Put it on a Saturday and add some awesome weather and you have today. People everywhere, most of them drunk. Honestly, I don't mind it. The people watching is amazing, that's why I decided to head down near the river to take some pics. Kudos everyone, thanks for the entertainment!

A crazy afternoon, weather wise. Liz and I were running an errand together and all the sudden the sky turned grayish, blueish, pinkish, orange. Followed by a huge storm? Nope, just a little wind.

New job means new route to work. If it's not unbearably hot this summer, I'll be able to take a nice stroll over the river.

First day at work!!! Holy crap, my next 3 weeks are all filled with training from every department. It's pretty awesome because it makes the day go by fast. I LOVE being busy. Plus, my boss took me to lunch at Chicago Cut Steakhouse. Not bad.

Very excited about my new work neighborhood after being in the south loop. I'm up by Randolph and Wacker; it's like the fancy business area of the loop. That may sound strange but I'm used to seeing many traders and lots of people still stuck in the 80s, clothing wise. I'm sure I'll still see it occasionally here but not as much as I used to.

A day off and yoga and 2 shows and some beers. Well done Monday.

Sunday, March 11, 2012

I met Alex at Frasca for an awesome brunch - french toast and potatoes. Then coffee with Kelly at Next Door, this cool coffee shop/financial coaching/community center. Pretty cool place. It also has this gigantic calendar that I want desperately in my apt. My birthday is in 3 weeks. So there ya go.

Saturday, March 10, 2012

I started off my 4 day weekend with a hardcore bootcamp at the gym, then some coffee, and then a nice walk around downtown. The second to last photo is my new office building, where I start on Wednesday. Ver very exciting. And I start work at 8:30! That's a whole hour more I can sleep every night. Awesome.

Friday, March 09, 2012

My last day at this job. Got some nice flowers, lots of drinks and a drunken ride home ont h train. I don't recommend the last thing.

Thursday, March 08, 2012

I left my giant rubber band ball to my co-worker Amy. She was pretty excited. I gotta say there's one thing I really regret most about leaving this job.....I should've stolen more.

Wednesday, March 07, 2012

Insurance Exchange Building and the CBOT building from the LaSalle/Van Buren stop. Only 3 more days at this el stop, then I move on up to the NW side.

I have a bad habit of waiting until the last minute to prepare for my solo shows. Today I actually managed to write out a couple pieces and then I usually go through 5 or 6 post-it notes deciding the order. Wondering what these scenes are? I guess you'll have to see the show to find out :) FYI - you can see the times and dates of all shows on the right column. Come and say hi sometime!

I've opted to take the train every morning now. Waiting for the bus was becoming a pain sometimes. The only problem is switching from the red to the brown or purple line. I hate those people that cut in front of your even though you've been waiting longer. I wish it didn't bug me but it does. I'm more competitive getting a seat next to the window on the train than I am during the marathon.

Best neighborhood in the city :)

Saturday, March 03, 2012

Happy bday Dan!!! I ventured to Logan Square to celebrate Dan's dirty 30 bday along with his family and lots of fun friends. Then off to Holiday Club for some more drinkies and friend time. First late night out in about 2 months and stayed out til about 3am. Man, it felt good to get out!

Friday, March 02, 2012

I love running errands to 300 E. Randolph. It's like the building from the future. Plus, I get to ride the elevator to the 50th floor.

Thursday, March 01, 2012

My last day at work is next Friday and my co-worker Katherine is leaving tomorrow so we had joint farewell drinks with the office. I had a show tonight and I never drink beforehand. Buuuut after 2 rum & cokes and a tequila shot I felt ok. My improv wasn't bad but I was ready to go to bed around 7pm.

Trying to get prepared for marathon training season. the exercise part is going well. the food part.....not so much.

Tuesday, February 28, 2012

Well, this is a big deal. I'm going to read a book. That might sound strange but the last book I read was Steve Martin's Born Standing Up in the summer of 2010. My attention span has gotten shorter and shorter over the years. But I read an excerpt of this book,  Unbroken, in Vanity Fair and I couldn't wait to read it.  Another big deal is something I forgot to mention last Friday. I said I had big news for my boss. Yep! I gave my 2 weeks notice!! Our company was bought out by someone about a month ago so I wasn't sure if I would still have a job. I was really lucky and had 2 interviews with a company I found on my own, despite meeting with several recruiters. And I was offered the job the day after my second interview. I'll have the same title of administrative assistant but I'll have more responsibilities and mo' money. Holla.

This pic is actually from Friday night. Fernando came in town this past weekend. I love how much he misses Chicago. I think his appreciation for the city came after he moved to LA. I definitely think it's true for all of us. I love this city to death but when I leave for a little while, I find myself missing it even more. That's how I know how much I love living here; because I never felt that way about Texas.

Handmade invites to a friend's 30th bday party. I have awesome friends.

Saturday, February 25, 2012

I FINALLY tried The House of Fine Chocolates. They only accept cash and I always find myself without it when I'm nearby. All I have to say is try the hazelnut (pictured below) and amaretto truffles. I plan on going back for many many other flavors. Each truffle is only about $.60 too :)

I thought this was hilarious and I don't know why. Get it? "Nobunny."

Thursday, February 23, 2012

First day at work after my trip. I'm tired, it's rainy, and I have big news to tell my boss tomorrow.......

Wednesday, February 22, 2012

Last day in Dallas. I grabbed hot dogs at Wild About Harry's and then spent some quality time with my grandmother and aunt and had a nice plane ride home with some coffee while the lady next to me enjoyed a couple drinkies.

Tuesday, February 21, 2012

Not an eventful day, went to the gym at Dallas Country club, then hung out at my grandparents', and then wandered around North Park. Not too shabby, Dallas.
